In the United States, there are many areas that experience yearly flooding and are at risk for raising water levels that would benefit from a floating or an amphibious home. In coastal cities; as expansion occurs, floating and amphibious homes could reduce the costs that occur during flood events to property. Instead of having to repair homes due to flood damage each year, the single initial cost of purchasing the home would eventually outweigh the benefits that occur yearly when the home incurs minimal damage at most.
Areas in the United States that would benefit from this technology are those that experience yearly flooding. Protected Coastal communities would be better suited towards floating homes because of the rising levels of the oceans; while areas that experience yearly flooding would benefit from amphibious homes that could eventually settle on the ground for the majority of the year.
